«  Can't Hide on the Internet  »

Friday 28 April 2006

Just after reading this post on bigblogcompany about how difficult it is to hide on the internet, I came across a piece of investigation by Drinking From Home into some speeches on marriage and relationships by British Government minister Rosie Winterton. The speeches seem to have been removed sometime over the last couple of months from the Department for Constitutional Affairs website. Interestingly she used to work for Deputy Prime Minister John Prescott who is currently having some marital difficulties of his own.

From 1980-1986 she was Constituency Personal Assistant to John Prescott MP; she was Parliamentary Officer for Southwark Council from 1986-88 and for the Royal College of Nursing from 1988-1990; Managing Director of Connect Personal Affairs from 1990-1994; and, was Head of Office for John Prescott MP, Deputy Leader of the Labour Party from 1994-1997.

I wonder if she discussed the purged speeches with him. Drinking From Home used the Wayback Machine to uncover the speeches, just one of the tools that bloggers and others are using to keep track of changes to websites.
